Publishing Once Were Wounds myself meant that I was fortunate enough to have the luxury and freedom of choosing precisely how I wanted the collection to be presented, and it was important for me to have autonomy over the creative process as a whole.
In October 2020 I reached out to bookbinder and presentation specialist, Louise James at The Binding Studio in Auckland. Over the next two months we worked together, combining our creative concepts and her artisan knowledge to finalise the design components for The Linen Edition.
The Linen Edition has been lovingly crafted with a devotional, intimate and authentic energy that carries all the way through to all who hold these pages between their hands.
Each of the design elements in The Linen Edition have been thoughtfully and carefully selected to represent the organic nature of the collection. It is personal and minimalistic, exquisitely bound and intricately handmade using traditional bookbinding tools and methods.
